Lady Dragons 4-1

On Saturday afternoon, November 24th, Cortland Women’s Basketball team day-tripped to Canton, New York for their first Saturday game of the season where they took home their fourth win of the season against St. Lawrence University 74-62.  Phoebe Byrnes scored a three-pointer within the first 21 seconds of the first period leading the Red Dragons 3-0, and by the end of the first period they were still holding a leading score of 38-22.

In attempt to catch up to CWB, St. Lawrence got closer six minutes and 11 seconds into the second period with a score of 41-46, Cortland.  Grace Williamson totaled 14 points as well as Phoebe Byrnes and Caysen Cohen with 14 points. Junior Lindsey Minor came through with eight points, two of which were three-pointers in the second half as well as three assists. Megan Touhey contributed eight points, six rebounds, four assists, three blocks and three steals, and junior Sarah Seger concluded eight points, four rebounds and two assists.

It was a great game for the Cortland Women’s Basketball team before their week off for the holiday.  The Lady Dragons are currently 4-1 to date for the season, that’s something to be thankful for!
